Jeremy leads every Truvio engagement and stays directly involved in the controller-level
work, reporting, and financial decisions that matter.
He started Truvio after years inside nonprofit finance departments, where the same gap kept
showing up. Organizations had bookkeeping covered, but nobody with controller-level
experience actually owned the close, the reporting, the grant accounting, the controls, or
the numbers leadership was using to make decisions. Most didn't need another full-time
finance executive. They needed that ownership in a more flexible form.
Most recently, Jeremy served as Controller of Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, a $65 million
nonprofit healthcare organization with roughly 40 programs and multiple federal and
grant-funded revenue streams. He led accounting operations, monthly close, consolidated
reporting, cash management, audit and Uniform Guidance single audit support, and the
migration from MIP Abila Desktop to MIP Cloud. He redesigned the close process and brought
the monthly close down to 10 business days.
He also serves as Comptroller for Southern Legal Counsel, a nonprofit legal advocacy
organization, where he oversees the accounting function, grant reporting, monthly close,
internal controls, audit preparation, board reporting, and financial systems. He led its move
from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online and rebuilt the grant reporting and close
processes, cutting the close from about three weeks to one.
Before focusing on nonprofits, Jeremy founded and ran a multi-entity operating business for
nearly 15 years as President and Controller, growing it to roughly $3 million in annual
revenue before exiting in 2024. He has also worked in acquisition advisory and financial
due diligence, and began his career in public accounting. He is a Florida-licensed CPA
with a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Florida.
Truvio works alongside whoever already handles part of your finance function: an in-house
bookkeeper or accounting staff, an outside CPA firm, your auditors, or a payroll provider.
The goal is not to replace a finance team that's working. It's to make sure someone with
controller-level experience is accountable for how the pieces fit together.
Truvio is based in Gainesville, Florida, and works with nonprofits nationwide, remotely and
onsite when it helps.
